Collbaix Celler el Molí awarded the Biosphere seal on 26 November for its commitment to sustainable tourism

On 26 November, in the spectacular Santa Cecília Monastery on the slopes of Montserrat Mountain, Collbaix was awarded the Biosphere seal, in recognition of its commitment to sustainability. It also renewed its membership in the Central Catalonia UNESCO Global Geopark. The seal is awarded jointly by the Bages Regional Council and Barcelona Provincial Council.

The Biosphere seal is a form of sustainable tourism certification awarded to businesses that operate according to principles of environmental, economic and social sustainability that contribute to respectful business practices in both the region and Catalonia as a whole.

Within the framework of the Biosphere seal, Collbaix works to optimise its management in terms of sustainability and efficiency by applying strict best practice guidelines.

In addition to the award of the Biosphere seal, Global Geopark membership and PECHO (tourist information point) status, the event also included a guided tour of Santa Cecília de Montserrat and the Sean Scully art space and a tasting of dishes from the guide El mató de Montserrat, el formatge del Bages a la cuina [Montserrat cottage cheese: cooking with the traditional Bages cheese].
